Marriage in another country?
I was invited to my friends marriage in another country, Israel. Now, I am not jewish (that’s not the main reason) but I am a heavy spender and if I’m in another country I love to live it up to the fullest. Plane tickets alone cost around $1,200 plus hotel for 5 days is another $1,200, wedding gift $400, Food probably another $500, plus spending money for transportation, souvenirs, etc…
I have money but times are scary, not trying to go ahead and do all that.
If you were to have a wedding in another country – would you offer to pay for the people you would want there. In my mind, if I were to get married in another country I would pay for the people that agreed to go plane tickets, hotels, and all. Just because, I feel as-if it is the right thing to do. I love how she’s giving me the guilt trip but I honestly don’t care, I’ve done way more for this girl for her to even try that crap.
Let me know your thoughts.
I would pay for close friends and family but the rest would have to sort themselves out, however if a lot of people couldn’t come because of the expense I would either have a wedding in my home country and honey moon in the country I had planned to wed in or have the proper wedding abroad then hold a ceremony back home.
However I wouldn’t dream of trying to make anyone feel guilty if they couldn’t afford to travel abroad for the wedding.
